Carbide Blade for Thin-Film Slitting
Thin film and foil punish steel edges: within days a steel slitter starts pushing material instead of cutting it. Tungsten carbide changes the economics – at HRA 87-92 the edge holds its geometry for weeks of continuous running, keeping cuts clean and changeovers rare.
The mirror-polished edge matters as much as the hardness: less friction means less heat, no melted residue on tacky films, and slivers that fall away instead of jamming the nip.
Hole layout is what makes a blade fit your holder. We machine bore, pin holes and bolt circles to your drawing, and can add coatings or special edge angles for demanding films.

Key Advantages
01Extreme Edge Life
Carbide hardness far beyond tool steel keeps the cutting geometry stable for weeks of continuous slitting.
02Clean Cuts on Thin Webs
Sharp polished edge slices film and foil without burrs, tearing or delamination.
03Low-Friction Mirror Finish
The polished face sheds adhesive and residue – ideal for tacky films and tapes.
04Precision Hole Positions
Bore, pin holes and bolt circles machined to drawing for a direct fit on your holder.
05Coating Options
Optional surface coatings and special cutting angles for abrasive or high-temperature applications.
06OEM & ODM from Drawing
Custom carbide compositions and geometries produced from drawings, samples or machine model.

FAQ
How long does a carbide edge last vs steel?
Depending on material, carbide commonly runs 10-20 times longer than tool steel before regrinding.
Can you copy the three-hole layout of my current blade?
Yes – send the blade or its drawing and we reproduce bore, hole diameter and positions exactly.
Do you offer coated carbide blades?
Yes – coatings and special edge preparations are available for abrasive or sticky materials.
What is the minimum order for custom carbide?
Small batches are fine; we produce single replacement blades and production series alike.
Need carbide blades for thin film?
Send diameter, holes and material – our engineers reply with a quote within 24 hours.
